Folks Are Still Talking

I gave my husband a retirement luau party on July 21, 2012 at our home. Amongst other things, I hired Kinikia to provide authentic hula dancing. She and her partner were FANTASTIC!!! She really knows her stuff and truly pleased each and every one of our guests including my four year old cousin. He sat spellbound, in one place, watching them perform for about an hour. He was soooo funny. So, I can truly say that the crowd from four to probably 80 thoroughly enjoyed the performance, the chance to participate in the dances, and taking pictures that they will cherish for ever. They are still talking about this fabulous entertainment. Folks said they felt like they were in Hawaii in my backyard. And, my husband....OMG. He was on Cloud 9 and is still talking about it. He is my fan for life! This was the best surprise gift I could ever have given him. He loved the performance!!!!!

Folks, Kinikia is fabulous and is a great joy to work with. While we talked a lot via e-mail or phone, I had never met her until that day. She's everything you want.....great performer, very passionate about her profession, on time, does what she says she's going to do, reasonably priced, and communicates extremely well via e-mail or phone. I am so impressed with her and her customer focus. You could truly feel the passion that she and her other dancer have for their profession and the people they are working with.

I highly recommend her and would definitely hire her again and again. Kinikia, thank you for helping to make my party "the party of the century" as stated by many of our guests.

Blew us away!

Kinikia was very communicative, following up with me via email and the phone. She worked with me and my budget to put together an amazing show for my Tiki party. She and her crew showed up slightly early to get ready, and were friendly, professional (and good looking!). The actual performance surpassed my expectations. The costumes looked authentic. The island dances captured my guests' attention, and the fire dances blew everyone away! They made sure to engage the audience, even calling for willing participants. I wasn't sure my friends were the participating kind of people, and were a little shy at first, but by the end, people did not have to be asked to volunteer. My favorite was watching my male guests follow-the-leader in the war dance where they stuck out their tongues, made scary faces, and slapped their chests. At the end of the show, my friends loved the opportunity to get their photos taken with the performers. Overall, this was a positive experience and DC Hippodrome's show was what transcended this party from average to unforgettable.

I hired Kinikia for a birthday luau party and she was fantastic. She told us a little about each dance in advance and then performed them beautifully. She also taught us a few dances which made it fun to participate and dance along with her. I would definitely hire her again for a future party.

Kinikia and the other two "wahines" were just spectacular. Not only are they incredible dancers, they are also great at interacting with the crowd and getting them into it without being annoying or aggressive. They were a class act from start to finish. It totally made our Luau for our Hawaiian-born son's Bar Mitzvah. Everyone just raved about them and asked how I found them! I will tell everyone I can about how great they were and how easy it was to book them and work out their show. Also, being able to book the wonderful ukulele player to start the show was a treat and just the right touch as the guests were coming in to prepare them for the wonderful dancing! Mahalo for a wonderful experience!

We are a Married Couples ministry who like to relax and have fun. They were a little apprehensive at the beginning, but then really began to enjoy themselves. It was great fun participating in and learning the dances, and especially with the fellows wearing the grass skirts. A BLAST! We certainly would hire Cindy again.

I hired DC Hippodrome at the very last minute after I receiving a last minute cancellation from another dancer. I was hosting a large, nighttime event featuring artists and variety entertainment.
Dc Hippodrome got back to me immediately and agreed to the gig which was taking place in an hour. They arrived on time and were extremely professional, pleasant and flexible. This was a busy event with a lot of different things going on and everything was taken in stride.

The dancing was phenomenal and the crowd definitely responded to it. The performance added something exciting and fun to the event and I can't thank them enough.

I will use them again and highly recommend them if you need to add some pizazz to your event.

I just want to let you know that our Latin American Heritage celebration was a success. I received many compliments from our colleagues about the event. Special thanks go to Kinikia, Serena and Joven. They did well and danced for us even under the sweltering heat.

I contracted them for my kids birthday party. The kids had a great time. They involved the kids with hula hoop, limbo and other dances. They were on time, very friendly and offered a very professional service. Adults enjoyed the dances as well.
