DaRuddest Jones is a spoken word artist. She has been in performance since the age of 4. She's done everything from African dancing with Laraque Bey to singing background for Jerome Brooks. She's worked with the great George Faison for a number of yrs with a group called the Respect Project. Jones has also been honored with the opportunity to work with Dr. Maya Angelou. Jones has performed at the national black theater festival as well as local venues such as the 5spot, VooDoo Lounge, HK Lounge, Billie's Black, Mogul Lounge and many more. DaRuddest is the founder of and artistic director of Rude T.ee V.ee. Rude T.ee V.ee was created to give free training and exposure to motivated artist.

Rude T.ee V.ee
Rude T.ee V.ee was created to supply a safe haven to other poets / spoken word artist of my background and age bracket. I've come to find that the art of poetry is often no respected. Alot of poets are over looked because poetry has not become mainstream. One of my goals is to show that poetry is the root of it all. Poetry is the mother of all genres of music. Its just not always done on top of a fly beat.
• How did I come up with the name Rude T.ee V.ee? Well my name is DaRuddest Jones. Not because im rude but because people who dont understand me and my thought process typecast me as rude. The reason I choose Rude T.ee V.ee to be the name of my movement is because I need people to see and understand my visions. I often say "Once you've lived Rude T.ee V.ee you'll never go back to your TV." I just want to show people what goes on inside of my head. I like to bring raw art to my audience. I like to share real life. I talk of rape, abuse, parenting, school, music, racism and a host of other things. There's no point in sharing if its not of substance and I prefer to only work with poets who feel the same way about their craft.
• What does Rude T.ee V.ee offer? Rude T.ee V.ee supplies poets with free Artist Development, free training in stage etiquette, free promotion, free assistance with developing new pieces, free exposure and a showcase to display their artistry.
MISSION
Im striving to bring the art of poetry to the masses one venue at a time. Poetry is the root of all music. It needs to be respected as a genre and im determined to take poetry to a new level.
