Wow where do I start! I have been a professional photographer for over thirty years and never have I come across such an amazing photographer. Daniel is a visionary, artist, creative and an awesome photographer. He has shared with me that he first visualizes his idea, sketches it and then creates it. He takes things to a whole new level. If you hire him trust me he will not disappoint you, in fact he will create something unique and custom just for you. Daniel is one of the kindest people I know. Interview excerpt:
-Why are you a dance photographer? What is the story behind the pictures?
My journey into dance photography was quite unconventional. I was a dancer and acrobat myself, but suffered a fatal accident during training which in turn caused my neck to break in two places. After undergoing a miraculous operation, I found myself alone for 3-4 months recovering at home with nothing by my side but a camera. Ever since then, all of my time has been invested into photography and making my visions come to life. I then began “giving back” to dance and performing arts because I still had an underlying love and deep appreciation for the arts. I’ve always been a visionary and a person that loves to create.
-If you could explain your work in one sentence, what would it be?
Quite simply, I try to encompass an idea, story, or mood with my photos. Photography for me is all about creating the impossible on set.
-What can we expect to see in your current/future portfolio?
Most of my work will involve creative portraiture or movement, and these genres are what I specialize in. You can definitely expect some craziness here and there, as I am a very conceptual thinker. I would rather define myself as an artist at heart more than anything, so I always try to think of new ways to approach shoots and better myself from the last project.
-Do you accept local clientele?
At the moment I am accepting more commercial or editorial work. I’m always looking to expand and collaborate with other artists for my portfolio, but these are only for personal assignments. I am open to advertisement or commercial work, and any questions or comments can be sent directly to my email.
