Biography
The Cruize Control Band, formerly known as the Nixa City Limits Band is a Jimmy Buffett tribute band and performs various genres of music with focus on rock and blues. They perform upbeat songs that keep people out on the dance floor. Their covers are remakably as close to the original artists as you will find. Cruize Control performs at various types of venues ranging from wedding and wedding ceremonies, corporate events, fund raisers, night clubs, festivals and bar/restaurant venues. Their Buffett gig has taken off in the midwest area and they have mastered the Buffet tropical music style.
Cruize Control is made up of rhythm guitarist and lead vocalist, Rick Lamb who does various impersonations such as Janis Joplin, Joe Cocker, Elvis, James Taylor, Jimmy Buffett, Stevie Nicks , John Denver, Chris Isaac, and Johnny Cash. Rhythm/Lead guitarist and backup vocalist, Mark McConnell has 30 years experience with several bands. George Long Jr.(JR)has played drums for 40 years and has shared the stage with the likes of Charlie Daniels and Head East. Rick Mulheron plays bass guitar and does back up vocals. Lead guitarist Drew Webber is only 21 but has wowed many an experienced axe man with his jazz/blues style and fast finger movement. Keys are played by another youngster in the band, David Pyck who flat out can play the piano. Cruize Control keeps very busy and played over 60 gigs each year for the past 3 years. Keep in mind everyone in this band has full time jobs and that's playing on average once a week. They are working hard to get to Key West for the annual Meeting of the Minds convention, where they hope to show off their Buffett tribute talents. You'll find it very hard to come up with a tune that they can't play or won't play and with over 300 songs in their arsenal you will have a big variety of artists to choose from. Cruize Control is not one of those bands that plays the same set week after week. They really like to mix it up and put on a quality show every time they play.
