Ashley Gonzalez is a singer and songwriter in the jazz idiom using standards and original music to create a very personal body of work. Crafting her music as “story,” her interpretations are carefully set with textures and richly-colored harmonies. Ashley served as a Betty Carter Jazz Ahead resident at the Kennedy Center for her creative arrangements and unique compositional style. After years of being self-taught, Ashley received her masters degree under the direction of Peter Eldridge, Kate McGarry, and Theo Bleckman as a Manhattan School of Music scholarship student. The Ashley Gonzalez Group performs in New York City and the surrounding regions.
