We are a Classic Rhythm & Blues, Motown, Swing, Funk, and Rock band playing The Blues Brothers, The Commitments, Otis Redding, CCR, The Beatles, The Temptations, James Brown, Wilson Pickett, Sam and Dave and more. Instrumentation: Vocal, trumpet, saxophone, guitars, bass, and drums. We do a lot of our promotions as well through radio, local cable, newspapers, magazines and more to help make each a successful event if that's what is needed. We love to travel, this past summer of 2012 we performed for festivals and events in the UK and Ireland!

I have not seen this group live but have their latest CD and have reviewed all of thier posted live audio & video recordings. Wow! Bands are a dime a dozen but real talent like this is much harder to find. Every musician has talent well above average and the 5 piece group has a sound as tight as it gets. Andre is gifted as a guitar player and singer. The horns are especially good and add a very special (and often missing) sound in in a small group that makes ALL the difference. Don't overlook this group!

About
Andre & The J-Tones is a Rhythm & Blues, Funk, Rock and Soul band that performs your favourites from the 60's and 70's. They are energetic with a funky horn section and a singer with the raspy and gutsy power of Wilson Pickett and the gentle sound of Otis Redding and Sam Cooke. Playing the music of The Blues Brothers, The Temptations, Stevie Wonder, The Commitments, Joe Cocker, Sam & Dave, CCR, Stevie Ray Vaughan, and The Beatles. This Hamilton, Ontario band has been together for 7 years performing all over Ontario.
Our singer Andre Bisson released a new CD in August 2012 that was Nominated for 7 Hamilton Music/Industry Awards and Won Best Keyboard Player of the Year. His first original CD was voted Best Rhythm & Blues Album in Canada by The Blues Underground Network, Nominated for "Blues Recording of the Year" for the 2009 Hamilton Music Awards (Rhythm & Blues Experience), and Voted Best CD of 2009 by Hamilton Blues. He also released a Christmas CD on December 4, 2010, A Rhythm & Blues Christmas. We also released a cover album in Spring 2011 "Beyond the Covers" which is a great collection of cover songs in the style of Rhythm & Blues from the 60s and 70's.
Recent Events: We just arrived home from a tour in the UK in August 2012 an Ireland Tour in September 2012. We have also just released our NEW 2012 CD in the UK & Ireland this summer and will be releasing in Canada this Fall 2012
All of the members are full-time independent and professional musicians playing all over and outside of Ontario. Events we have performed for are: Burlington/St. Catharines/Niagara Falls Rotary Ribfests, Porquis Blues Festival, Perth Garlic Fest, Mississauga Lobsterfest, Bread & Honey Festival, Bruce County Blues Concert Series, Hamilton Food & Drink Festival at Copps Coliseum, The Caledonia Fair, Mustard Festival, Royal Botanical Gardens for various events including the Red Hot Jazz and Cool Blues Concert Series, Bruce Mines and Sault Ste Marie Canada Day, and much more!

What to Expect
Typical Gig Duration: 60 - 240 minutes
Everyone in the band brings there own unique twist to the bands sound allowing the band to have a great following. Andre’s vocals have the power of Wilson Pickett as well as the gentle sound of Otis Redding and Sam Cooke, his guitar playing is influenced by Colin James and the dirty blues of Stevie Ray Vaughan. The band also includes a horn section of 2, trumpet and tenor saxophone as well as a solid and funky rhythm section with bass and drums.
This combination of skilled players allows the band to have tight horn lines as well as a heavy groove in the rhythm section making anyone in the room sit up and listen.

-Music for during dinner and the breaks
-5 Professional Musicians dressed in black
-We arrive 1 hour before guests arrive to do a sound check and set up.
-Fantastic dance music
