I am an accordionist /pianist / singer with extensive experience playing solo and with bands in many styles. I was a Disney entertainer at both Disneyland in California and Tokyo DisneySea in Japan, playing accordion at both parks.
Most of my performing has been as a pianist/vocalist in hotels, nightclubs, restaurants, and private home parties. My specialty at this time is solo accordion, playing a mix of European and American Standards as well as contemporary Jazz and Pop. I can also provide piano music with or without vocals.

Al DiMarco performed at Brightmore Independent Retirement Community for the 1st time this past month! What a pleasant surprise! Al is a very professional and extremely talented musician! We love to hear a variety of different music at Brightmore and he provided us with a "Jazzy" piano atmoshere and then switched it up, without missing a beat, to fun and energetic accordian music. The residents were able to sing along with Al, requests songs and even get up and dance a bit, if they dared to! The residents are already asking when he will be back, so that is already saying alot about Al's talent. I would recommend him for any type of event and have permanently placed him on my entertainement contact list!

About
Al DiMarco 58 years old. Professional musician for more than 35 years. Originally from the New York Metropolitan area. Lived and played music in many parts of America including Alaska and California. I've played with wonderful musicians in a number of styles over the years, particularly in areas of New York, Los Angeles and Tokyo, Japan. I Lived and worked in Japan for 7 years playing for Disney initially and then at some of the finest hotels and night clubs in Tokyo and other parts of Japan.
I perform solo on accordion, playing standards, contemporary, and ethnic favorites such as Italian, French and polka music. I also enjoy sitting at a fine piano and playing beautiful standards songs, show tunes and contemporary pop hits. I can play instrumentally or play and sing. If a band is desired, I can provide one by drawing on a large pool of excellent musicians. When working with a band, many styles are available, especially fun is Zydeco party music with the accordion.
Influences
On accordion, I've been most strongly influenced by the late Frank Marocco, who was friend and musical mentor. On piano: Bill Evans, Elton John, Billy Joel, Richard Tee, Chick Corea and many others. With regard to songs: Elton John, Billy Joel, Barry Manilow, James Taylor and Jackson Browne and the writers of the classic standards. I love beautiful ballads and specialize in them.
What to Expect
Typical Gig Duration: 30 - 360 minutes
If playing solo piano or accordion, my function is mainly as background or atmosphere music, creating a mood. That is my goal as a musician in such a setting. If I am also singing, the music will often be perceived as entertainment rather than background. If using my keyboard setup, I have a number of sounds I incorporate to keep the sound varied and more interesting (so I think.) I also use a drum machine on some songs when I want a steady rhythm.
I can also play in larger musical configurations, from a duo on up to a large ensemble.
Additional Notes:
For beautiful piano music, a good acoustic piano is must. If I am going to play a keyboard, it can and will be OK, but it does not create the same feeling, in my opinion.
