Biography
The Tsunami Wave Riders were formed in 2005 by lead singer and keyboardist Ronnie Tsunami, along with steel drummers Joanna and Keilani. While touring in the Carolinas, they met up with Greg ‘The Tiki Man’ Torzillo, a popular rock guitarist and Hawaiian lap-steel guitar player from Maui, who joined the Tsunami Wave Riders a year later in 2006 to round out the tropical band that is quickly gaining fans (affectionately known as “TurtleNecks†because of their surfing turtle logo) worldwide.
They have been described as “Jimmy Buffett with a Hawaiian twist,†with a collection of original songs that combine country, rock and reggae rhythms with traditional island instruments - such as the Hawaiian lap-steel guitar and Caribbean steel drums - that instantly puts listeners on their favorite beach. In fact, that is the goal of the Tsunami Wave Riders - to help people to relax and de-stress with some feel-good island music.
With a goal of living and sharing the aloha lifestyle, the Tsunami Wave Riders are taking audiences with them for a little island-hopping vacation around the world.
