Why hire Sounds of Concord?
Sounds of Concord is New England's top-ranked male barbershop chorus. We also have several experienced quartets.
We sing in the barbershop style, that original American musical form combining four-part close harmony with rich melodic sound and lots of emotion. Our repertoire includes traditional ballads, up-tunes and novelty songs.
About
The Sounds of Concord, (The SOC) entertaining audiences for over 35 years, is the top-ranked Barbershop Chorus in New England. Our 50 man chorus and our quartets sing in the barbershop style, that original American musical form combining four-part close harmony with rich melodic sound and lots of emotion. Our repertoire includes ballads sung from the heart as well as toe-tappers and swing melodies that instantly put a smile on your face. Our songs range from traditional barbershop songs to tunes from stage and screen, gospel songs and spirituals, folk tunes, and patriotic songs. Our performances include choreography and humor, and we always include audience participation to increase the fun.
The SOC performs at civic and private functions throughout eastern Massachusetts. We sing at anniversaries, birthdays and block parties, as well as at local business, town and church functions, and industry conventions. Our Christmas caroling, Singing Valentines and Annual Show are seasonal specialties. SOC also entertains senior citizens at facilities around the area.
SOC is a chapter of the Barbershop Harmony Society, (formerly known as SPEBSQSA, Inc.) Our members come from all walks of life, but along with over 28,000 other barbershoppers, they share a passion for fellowship, making good music together and entertaining audiences. SOC rehearses every Thursday evening at 7:30 PM at Temple Emunah, 2 Piper Rd (off Rt. 2) in Lexington, Mass., and guests are always welcome (see our Rehearsals page). For directions, call us at (866) 537-1584
We recently won first place in the Northeast District of the Barbershop Harmony Society, and will compete in Portland Oregon
at the International Competition.
